GSU presents GradFest 2010

*** UPDATE***
Due to wildly popular demand, and the completely unexpected sell out of all
GradFest tickets, additional tickets will be on sale at the GSU office (above
Bitters) between 10am and 2pm tomorrow (and the rest of the week if tickets are
still available).
Additional tickets include:
1. Haunted Hike Tickets 12 tickets including bus ride from Bitters.
Additional tickets are available for people that can make their own way to
downtown.
2. Outdoor Paintball 10 tickets available.
3. Cape Spear Tour 12 more tickets available. Additional tickets available
for people that can make their own way to Cape Spear.
4. SUNDAY Dusk Harbour Cruise Another cruise is on the go for Sunday with 32
spots available. Tickets are again $15. Bus will leave Bitters at 5:30pm and
return 9pm.
Also remember that no tickets are needed for the Brass Lunch or Trivia on
Thursday or the Happy Hour on Friday.
Hope to see you all then!
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to your graduate studies at the Memorial University of Newfoundland.
As a graduate student at MUN, you are one of over two thousand members of the Graduate Students’ Union (GSU). The GSU is focused on enhancing academic opportunities for grad students and ensuring the most fulfilling student life. The GSU is here to provide academic support, travel and conference grants, administer your health and dental plan and campaign for issues which affect graduate students, just like you. The GSU also operates the only graduate student residence on campus (in Feild Hall), a computer lab, grad offices and Bitters, the graduate student owned-and-operated pub and restaurant.
If you are interested in getting involved and gaining experience outside of your academic career then consider joining a committee or becoming a representative of your academic unit. The more input we receive from our diverse graduate population, the better we’ll be at advocating for the issues affecting you. The GSU is only as strong as the people involved in it, and we welcome and encourage any graduate student to participate in any or all facets of the organization.
This year we’ve organised a cornucopia of activities for GradFest. It is going to be a rip snorter of a week, and all of us on the Social Events Committee hope to see you there.
