The Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM) is a professional association for Canada's mining, metallurgical, and petroleum industries. The organization has established student chapters at universities and colleges across Canada to provide opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in these industries. The Marine Institute Graduate Society (MIGS) is a student-led group for graduate students at the Fisheries and Marine Institute campus. MIGS host various activities geared toward student involvement. These activities include social and educational events such as bar crawls, whale watching, group hikes, trivia, and research-based seminars. While hosting several events, MIGS works closely with administrative and managerial staff to ensure a positive environment for all Marine Institute graduate students.

MUN Bike Hub is a volunteer student group. Our primary objective is to facilitate cycling, particularly among students. We organise bike related activities throughout the year (such as leisure excursions and workshops to learn more about bike issues and repair) and we manage a mailing list and chat group for the MUN bike community. One of our biggest activities is lending used bikes to students. Our services are available for MUN students and non-students alike. The Society of Black Graduate Students is an umbrella body representing the interests of graduate students of black origin at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
