We are looking for -

GSU is looking for a Chief Recruiting Officer for the term of 2024 - 2025 to oversee the by-elections, full elections. The CRO will be remunerated five hundred Canadian dollars ($500 CAD) for the winter semester & some for the by-elections.

Duties:

  1. Manage election processes: Handle nomination forms, announce candidates, publicize elections, and announce results.

  2. Inform members: Share election results with GSU members through email and other suitable platforms/methods.

  3. Provide documents: Ensure candidates get the GSU Constitution, Bylaws, and Electoral Policy before campaigning starts.

  4. Enforce policies: Implement election policies and distribute penalties as needed.

  5. Handle appeals: Address appeals related to election issues and participate in the Electoral Committee with voting rights.

Qualifications:

  1. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks and events efficiently.

  2. Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in managing election processes and enforcing policies.

  3. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to inform members and candidates effectively.

  4. Knowledge of Policies: Familiarity with the GSU Constitution, Bylaws, and Electoral Policy.

  5. Conflict Resolution: Skills to handle appeals and election-related disputes.

  6. Decision-Making: Ability to make fair and impartial decisions during the election process.

  7. Experience in Governance: Previous experience in similar roles or involvement in governance, elections, or committees.

* Must be enrolled at MUN as a graduate student till April 2025

* Eligibility Restriction: The CRO during an election year cannot run for any positions in that election.
