About

My name is Sanazgoli Javanbakht G., and I am a Ph.D. student in Chemistry at MUN. I have a history with GSU that dates back to May 2022, when I started as a Health and Dental Coordinator. I was later promoted to Health and Dental Executive Assistant and recently ran for the position of Executive Director of Communication in the 2023 GSU election. Thanks to the support of the graduate students, I am honoured to serve my community as the Executive Director of Communication from May 2023 to April 2024.

As the Executive Director of Communication for the Graduate Students’ Union, I recognize the importance of effective communication in building productive connections between the Union and all graduate students. Communication is crucial in keeping students informed about the Union’s activities, programs, and services and ensuring that the Union understands the needs and concerns of the graduate students’ community. I also welcome feedback, questions, and ideas from students and encourage them to get involved in its activities, such as attending events, participating in advocacy efforts, or joining committees.

You can contact me by meeting in the GSU office, GH-2002 Feild Hall, 216 Prince Philip Drive, St. John’s, or email me at communications@gsumun.ca; either way, I look forward to hearing from you.
