Dear Fellow Students,

I am Hashna Binte Nahar, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Executive Director of Finance (EDF) in the GSU General Elections 2025. With a strong background in finance, data science, and banking, I believe GSU needs a finance-centered leader in this position—someone who truly understands budgeting, financial planning, and responsible fund management.

Why I Am the Right Choice for EDF

I bring real-world financial experience that sets me apart. Managing finances is not just about numbers; it is about making strategic decisions that benefit everyone. Here is why I am the best candidate for this role:

 Master’s in Data Science – I will use financial analytics to make data-driven decisions, ensuring our budget is used wisely.

 Bachelor’s in Statistics – My knowledge of forecasting and financial trends will help create well-planned and sustainable budgets.

 Banking and Investment Experience – Having worked in the financial sector, I have hands-on experience in budgeting, fund management, and financial planning. I know how to handle large budgets responsibly.

 Finance Secretary (Student Leadership) – I successfully managed budgets for a student organization during my undergraduate studies, ensuring responsible spending and fair allocation of funds.

My Vision for GSU’s Finances

 Transparency and Accountability: Students have the right to know how their money is being used. I will ensure that financial reports are easily accessible and clearly presented so that every student understands where their fees are going. I will also push for fair and responsible fund distribution so that student organizations and initiatives receive the support they deserve.

 Strategic Budgeting and Financial Efficiency: With my background in finance and data science, I will implement smarter, data-driven budgeting to reduce unnecessary expenses and ensure that funds are used where they are needed most. A well-planned budget leads to a financially strong student body and better opportunities for all.

 Financial Literacy and Student Support: Many students struggle with financial challenges. I will advocate for more financial assistance programs and create initiatives to help students manage their finances better. By promoting financial literacy, we can empower students to make informed financial decisions.

 Student-Centered Financial Decisions: Students should have a say in how their money is spent. I will work to establish open forums and feedback channels, allowing students to contribute ideas and voice their concerns about financial policies. Your voice matters, and I will make sure it is heard.

 The Right Leadership for GSU’s Future: A strong financial foundation is essential for a thriving student community. With my expertise, I will bring responsible financial management, greater transparency, and student-centered decision-making to GSU.

I believe GSU deserves a leader who understands finance, not just as a requirement, but as a tool for growth and opportunity. With your support, we can build a more financially secure and student-driven GSU.
